Coinsights
Privacy Policy

Coinsights ("the app", "we", "us") is a mobile application that identifies coins from photographs and estimates their collector value. This policy explains what data the app processes, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service.
Who is responsible
The data controller is the operator of Coinsights. For any privacy request, contact cognizeapp@gmail.com.
What we process, and why

We do not
- Sell your personal data.
- Track you across other companies' apps or websites (no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown because we do not track).
- Access your photo library beyond the pictures you explicitly pick or capture for a scan.
- Collect your precise location.
Third-party services we use
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security measures:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics) — account, collection sync, usage and diagnostic data. Firebase privacy.
- Google AI (Gemini API) — when cloud coin identification is enabled, a coin photo is sent to Google's Gemini API to produce the identification. Google states that data submitted through the paid API is not used to train its models. Gemini API terms.
- RevenueCat — subscription state. RevenueCat privacy.
- Google AdMob — non-personalised ads for free users. AdMob & privacy.
- Apple — App Store purchases, Sign in with Apple, TestFlight. Apple privacy.
Where data is stored
Data held by Firebase and the services above may be processed on servers in the European Union and the United States. Transfers outside the EU/EEA rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Account and collection data — until you delete your account.
- Coin photos — the scan image is stored with your saved coin so you can see it later; it is deleted when you delete that coin or your account. Photos sent for cloud identification are processed transiently and not retained by us.
- Usage and diagnostic data — retained in aggregate for up to 14 months by Firebase Analytics.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account; this permanently removes your account, saved coins and their images. For any other request, or to object to processing, email cognizeapp@gmail.com. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Coinsights is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update this page and the "last updated" date when this policy changes, and note significant changes in the app.
